Short Biography
Dr. Alaasar studied chemistry at Cairo University in Egypt. He is specialized in organic synthesis of liquid crystalline materials and its physical characterization using different techniques.
He received his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2009 from Cairo University, Egypt. In 2011 he was awarded the DAAD fellowship and in 2012 the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship with Prof. Dr. Carsten Tschierske at Martin Luther-University (MLU), Germany. He was appointed as associated professor of organic chemistry in 2014 at Cairo University, Egypt and in 2024 he got his Habilitation degree in organic chemistry from MLU. Since 2020 Mohamed raises funding for his own team from the DFG.
