Research
Since about 1987, Prof. Abichts research interests has been solid state chemistry and materials science, particularly in the field of functional ceramics based on barium titanate.
Our concept of microchemical designing should deliver contributions to clarify basic relationships between structures and properties of ceramics, to solve complex processes into simple chemical mechanisms.
The aim was to find well- understood instruments for controlling the microstructure along with the functional (electrical) properties by modifying the regions near the grain boundaries.
